Understanding Faith in God’s Promises
As we are still in Step 1 on how to build a house of prayer, let us open our hearts to receive divine wisdom and insight, as we seek to deepen our understanding of how faith in God’s promises shapes our journey of faith.
Suggested Readings:
- Devotional Reading: Read Ed 257 and COL 146. Reflect on the importance of aligning our prayers with God’s will and having faith in His promises.
- Join the boiler room and follow along with their devotional reading for that day.
“He makes it plain that our asking must be according to God’s will; we must ask for the things that He has promised, and whatever we receive must be used in doing His will. The conditions met, the promise is un- equivocal” (Ed 257).
“It is not the capabilities you now possess or ever will have that will give you success. It is that which the Lord can do for you. We need to have far less confidence in what man can do and far more confidence in what God can do for every believing soul. He longs to have you reach after Him by faith. He longs to have you expect great things from Him” (COL 146).
Day 5 Heart Challenge:
- Choose a promise from the Bible that resonates with you. Throughout the day, meditate on this promise and pray for the strength to trust in it, even in challenging circumstances.
- Share the chosen promise with a friend, family member, or prayer partner in the boiler room and discuss how it impacts your faith journey. Encourage each other to trust in God’s promises together.
- Prayerfully reflect on the profound honor it brings to God when we expect His greatness to manifest in our lives. Read DA 668 and COL 173 to prepare your heart for Day 6.
