Welcome to 40 days of Prayer!

The Lord sent a very precious message to the church in 1888 that lifted up Jesus as never before. It was a message that the church desperately needed. The message given through Elders Waggoner and Jones was a message of Righteousness by Faith. Speaking of this message, Ellen White said that God gave “a most precious message” through His servants, and characterized it as “the matchless charms of Christ.”

For 40 days we will be studying this much needed message of Righteousness by Faith, but more importantly we want to embrace it and share it with the world. This message that lifts up Jesus is incredibly good news; it has transformed the lives of so many who had struggled with legalism and had no assurance of salvation. We believe that this message is key to the latter rain.

As we prepare to start the 40 Days of Prayer together (October 11-November 19), pray that God would prepare your heart and that He will take you beyond where you are currently to an even more living and vibrant experience with Jesus.

 Here’s what to expect:

  1. United Prayer –  Jesus said, “…if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). There is great power in united prayer. There is also encouragement and spiritual strength found in Christian fellowship. Because of these truths, it is suggested that you find a prayer partner or a prayer call timeslot suitable for your schedule to fellowship with, and pray together with believers around the world.
  2. Going Deeper – These 40 days devotional is followed by prayer focus, heart challenges, and discussion questions. In order to get the greatest benefit from this devotional as a church, it is recommended that your church come together in the prayer call to study, pray and share together the discussion questions.
  3.  Prayer Fast – In order to get the most out of the 40 days, it is recommended that each participant limit all secular activity as much as possible. For example; do not watch secular television programs, listen to secular music, play secular games, surf the internet, discuss secular subjects with friends, etc. Try to keep your focus on as many spiritual subjects and activities as possible such as spiritual music, spiritual television programs, Bible study, etc. What this does is clear one’s mind so God can better communicate with us. You may also want to fast from some physical food. Some individuals choose to omit one meal, omit sweets, or eat less food at each meal during the 40 days.
