Can you imagine what would happen if there was continual humbling of heart and supplication for the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit 24 hours a day, month after month, and year after year?  If you have no idea, you must read the inspiring Story about Count Zinzendorf and the Moravian Prayer Movement.

During the month of December 2021, we had 48 half hour sessions of earnest prayer 24 hours a day for the whole month. By the grace of God, the Boiler Room continues to generate power.

“Many have in a great measure failed to receive the former rain. They have not obtained all the benefits that God has thus provided for them. They expect that the lack will be supplied by the latter rain. When the richest abundance of grace shall be bestowed, they intend to open their hearts to receive it. They are making a terrible mistake. … It is God who began the work, and He will finish His work, making man complete in Jesus Christ. But there must be no neglect of the grace represented by the former rain. Only those who are living up to the light they have will receive greater light” (TM 507).

The inspiration for the name comes from the following story:

Charles Spurgeon, the 19th-century English preacher, was known as the “Prince of Preachers.” It is not an exaggeration to say that thousands came to Christ through His preaching. A group of young ministers came one day to visit his church. After showing them the massive sanctuary, Spurgeon offered to show them his “boiler room.” The guests were not interested because boiler rooms were not pleasant places to visit. They were hot and dirty; usually located down in the basement. In Spurgeon’s time, steam was the power source of the day; boiler rooms were the powerhouses, the driving forces of everything. Spurgeon led the young ministers down to the basement where they found about one hundred people in prayer. “This,” Spurgeon said with a smile, “is my boiler room.” Whenever Spurgeon was asked the secret of his ministry he always replied, “My people pray for me.”
