Step 4 – Begin a daily prayer call
Invite your prayer partners to unite in praying every morning (or evening) at a time that works best for everyone. Also, unite in corporate fasting once a week.
“The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of God’s people are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer” (9MR 303.3).
“There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer.” – A.T. Pierson
If your group is small and struggling, we recommend that you and your prayer partners join one of our 24/7 United Prayer calls in the Boiler Room. It’s a blessing to unite in prayer with others who are filled with the Spirit and praying for their churches.
Suggested Reading:
1. Devotional Bible Verse:
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezek. 22:30
Reflection: Reflect on your own prayer life, cultivate meaningful relationships within the body of Christ, and step out in faith, trusting in God’s provision and guidance for your spiritual journey.
2. Join the boiler room and follow along with their devotional reading for the day.
Day 24 Heart Challenge:
1. Seeking God’s Guidance: Take time to seek God’s guidance in your own spiritual journey, asking Him to reveal areas where you can stand in the gap and intercede for others.
2. Investing in Prayer Partnerships: Reach out to fellow believers or friends in your community and initiate a prayer partnership, committing to regularly pray together for spiritual growth and revival.
3. Engaging in United Prayer: Join or initiate a prayer group, whether in person or virtually, where individuals can come together to share testimonies, support one another, and fervently intercede for God’s intervention in their lives and communities.
4. Heart Preparation: Prayerfully reflect on the impact a House of Prayer can have on our church, envisioning a place where hearts are lifted, burdens are shared, and faith is strengthened. Consider Acts 6:4 to prepare for Day 25 and the example set by the early apostles, who prioritized prayer alongside their ministry of the Word. May our reflections prepare us to humbly and faithfully share this vision with our pastor, knowing that through prayer, profound change can be brought about in our church and beyond.
“How ‘Standing in the Gap’ Transformed My Life!”
By: Marxianne A. – Thailand
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezek. 22:30
As the pandemic surged in 2020, life became increasingly challenging for me and many others, with widespread depression. Being relatively new to Adventism at that time, I yearned for a deeper understanding of God’s Word and prayer, as well as a prayer partner. Witnessing a tragic event within our community spurred me to action. I prayed fervently for guidance and companionship in my spiritual journey.
God answered by providing a prayer partner from my church, prompting me to invest in a Zoom premium account for our sessions. Over time, our small prayer circle of 2-3 people blossomed into the “Thailand Prayer Call,” gathering individuals to share testimonies and support one another. This initiative eventually merged with the global 24/7 United Prayer, exceeding my expectations.
Today, I marvel at God’s grace sustaining our united prayers. Growing up outside the Adventist faith, I lacked an understanding of authentic prayer, focusing solely on personal needs. Engaging in united prayer transformed my perspective, igniting a passion for intercession. Now, as a full-time missionary in prayer ministry, I witness God’s provision and power daily.
Stepping into this role required immense faith, leaving behind my career for God’s calling. Yet, God’s faithfulness surpasses all expectations, echoing Ephesians 3:20. Joining 24/7 United Prayer marked a pivotal turning point in my life.
If you’re feeling isolated or questioning your purpose, consider seeking a prayer partner or initiating intercessory ministry. Together, we can impact lives globally through united prayer. More intercessors are needed to stand in the gap for our world.
