”And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Have you ever truly searched for God with all your heart?
Imagine you’re walking at night and lose a quarter. How long would you look for it? Probably just a moment, right? But what if you lost an envelope with $10,000 during the day? You’d search for it nonstop—day and night—wouldn’t you?
Now, think about how you seek God. Do you search for Him like that lost quarter, with just a quick glance before moving on to other things that feel more important? Or do you seek Him with the same urgency and passion as someone searching for something of immeasurable value, determined not to stop until they find it?
God promises, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” And in verse 14, He says, “I will be found by you.”
When we seek Him with our whole heart, we will surely find Him. How far are you willing to go in seeking Him today?
Let’s make this our prayer this week: Lord, give me a heart that seeks You above all else.
”For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.’” (Isaiah 57:15)
A church sign once read: If you don’t feel close to God, guess who moved.
Do you know there is nothing you can do to make God love you more or less? God loves you with an everlasting, infinite love—its “width, length, depth, and height” are beyond your comprehension. (Ephesians 3:18)
So why do we often feel distant from God? One reason is that connecting with Him requires humility. Our Lord promises to dwell not only “in the high and holy place” but also “with him who has a contrite and humble spirit.”
True revival does not begin with celebration but with a broken and contrite heart—a heart fully aware of its need for God and surrendered to Him. The only path to genuine revival is through humility and brokenness before the Lord.
Please read the attached pdf and join me in praying that the Lord will convict us of our pride and grant us the gift of repentance.
A word of caution: We do not humble ourselves by praying, “Lord, humble me.”
The Pen of Inspiration tells us:
“We should not pray for God to humble us; for when God takes hold of us, He will humble us in a way that we would not enjoy. But we must day by day humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.” (Christian Service, p. 246)
