Step 2: PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! Seek earnestly the blessing of God!
The Foundation of Prayer
Today, we lay the foundational understanding that earnest prayer is the cornerstone of any successful prayer gathering or House of Prayer.
Without earnest prayer in the closet, there is no successful prayer meeting. And without much prayer, there is no House of Prayer. Much personal prayer must precede the prayer meeting; much united prayer must precede the building of a House of Prayer. Remember that it takes much prayer to make prayer happen. And the greatest answer to prayer is MORE prayer.
The Pen of Inspiration tells us exactly how revival is birthed in churches: “When churches are revived, it is because some individual seeks earnestly for the blessing of God. He hungers and thirsts after God, and asks in faith, and receives accordingly. He goes to work in earnest, feeling his great dependence upon the Lord, and souls are aroused to seek for a like blessing, and a season of refreshing falls on the hearts of men” (ChS 121).
Suggested Reading:
- Devotional Reading: Reflect on Matthew 6:6, where Jesus encourages us to pray in private, emphasizing the importance of personal prayer as a precursor to collective prayer.
- Join the boiler room and follow along with their devotional reading for the day.
Day 9 Heart Challenge:
- Dedicate at least 15 -30 minutes each day this week to personal prayer in a quiet, secluded place, allowing yourself to focus solely on communicating with God. Use this time to pour out your heart, express your deepest desires and concerns, and seek earnestly the blessing of God for yourself and others.
- Reach out to a friend or family member and invite them to join you in a time of united prayer. Together, choose a specific day and time to meet either in person or virtually for a focused prayer session. As you pray together, encourage each other to fervently seek God’s blessing and guidance, trusting that united prayer precedes the building of a House of Prayer and paves the way for spiritual revival in your lives and community.
- Prayerfully reflect on James 5:16 and Christian Service p.121 to prepare for Day 10 the birth of revival.
